  • Represented global telecommunications companies negotiating tower leases; property acquisitions; fiber back-bone licensing contracts;
  • Represented Colorado based international fast casual restaurant brand, negotiating site leases nationally;
  • Represented hotel developer in $55MM financing transaction with German bank and negotiating related construction contracts, property management contracts and numerous vendor contracts;
  • Represented property developer in redevelopment and condominiumization of office property in Aspen, Colorado;
  • Represented property developer in land acquisition, development, condominiumization and related corporate work for mixed use development in Carbondale, Colorado;
  • Represented town center master developer in land due diligence, acquisition and subsequent sale of entitled lots to residential, office and retail sub-developers;
  • Represented regional shopping center owner in financing, acquisition and disposition, and retail leasing for multiple properties in portfolio;
  • Handled dozens of luxury property sales in resort communities through closing, including Starwood and Red Mountain neighborhoods in Aspen, Colorado; the Cordillera subdivision in Vail Valley; and all throughout Summit County, Colorado;
  • Represented Colorado assisted living multifamily developers in HUD 223(f) 221(d)(4) financings and related corporate restructuring.
  • Represented multiple home-builders in numerous subdivided lot, multiple take-down transactions.
  • Represented IOT startup company in corporate restructuring work, including ownership buyout, negotiating complex amended and restated operating agreement and convertible promissory notes for incoming investors;

Subject to a four-year stint practicing law in Aspen, Colorado, David has practiced law in Denver, Colorado since 2000. David is also licensed to practice law in Arizona where he also enjoys spending time. With 20 years of experience at top tier law firms, David has burned the midnight oil on hundreds of deals and has a true passion for structuring and shepherding all manner of real estate transactions and business deals through to closing. Whether it’s a sale of an apartment building or shopping center, working with a team to establish complex, mixed use property developments or simply negotiating a retail lease, he has the experience and know-how to help close your real estate deal. In addition to real estate transactions, over the years David has helped many business owners and start-ups with creating and structuring companies, buying and selling businesses, dealing with employee matters and internal issues, and negotiating and drafting all manner of contracts and business documents.

David’s passion is working with those who forge successful business ventures out of sheer force of will, thoughtful planning and plenty of hard work. The goal is to do that in an efficient, understandable and compassionate manner that leaves his clients knowing they have a lawyer and also a friend who truly cares about their success. He makes it a priority to stay involved in the communities where he lives and works. David has fun meeting and talking with new people and believes in staying aware of the local issues and current events impacting his practice and his clients.

Growing up, David lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma where he graduated from Cascia Hall Preparatory School in 1993. He then attended The University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona and ultimately graduated from The University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2000. Outside of the law, David’s interests include: travelling; music; studying economic issues, science and the arts; and relaxing with his English bulldogs, Moe and Nugget.
